A good friend recently reminded me of something we did back in 2010. Inspired by Favela Painting we put together some mock-ups of what some of the drab buildings in my home town of Swindon could look like, given an industrial scale make over. It seemed like a bit of fun at the time and he ran a competition based around my templates that was popular. But he ran with it and petitioned the local council and eventually with investment from BMW this is how the building still looks today.
I love that when we go home my son, who wasn’t even born at the time, points it out and asks why its there?
